Romantic setting Lillypond
Culture weddings weave the traditions of the Kuku Yulanji people with contemporary ceremonies. The Kuku Yulanji, traditional owners of the Daintree Rainforest, have lived on these lands for more than 9,000 years. With their consent, Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa offers three ways to incorporate their presence with a rainforest weddings

Smoking ceremony - Smokings are performed by an elder of the Kuku Yulanji people as a way of spiritually binding a couple together for life. While wedding rings are material items that can be lost or destroyed, the smoke seals a bond which disappears to the eye but lasts forever within the couple. This is a special ceremony that only elders can perform.

Indigenous celebrant- A local Anglican deacon of Aboriginal descent leads you through your vows in a ceremony that blends western tradition with indigenous presence.

Aboriginal corroboree - Local Kuku Yulanji performers will present traditional forms of celebratory dance for you and your guests.
